Week 1 Summary

2 lbs So this week I am officially starting my weight loss plan. I am hoping to modify my routine and be held accountable (as I tend to cheat and/or drop the ball). I gained a TON of weight during IVF and then the FET treatments. Add to that not one, but two pregnancies and yeah.... I have a ton to loose and a ton to tone. Last week I plateaued with the weight loss that comes with having had a baby so (with my doctors ok) I decided to get my butt in gear. I didn't modify my diet as of yet. I am just slowly changing things one step at a time in hopes that I will actually stick with it. Adding in exercise to my routine (routine?? as if I have one of THOSE yet.... 2 under 2 is no joke!).

Weight loss this week: 2 lbs

Weight loss to date: 2 lbs
Weight left to lose: 28 lbs

First Goal: 10 pounds

Reward: Pedicure

Second Goal: 20 pounds

Reward: ??

Final Goal: 30 pounds

Success: Starting to get into a workout routine since having a baby is tough... definitely noting this as a success (heck ya!)
Set-Backs: Not the healthiest food choices. Weekends are tough as we tend to grab anything quick and easy.
Exercise: I did a 20 minute interval run on the treadmill on Wednesday. Thursday I started the 30 day shred and have successfully done it for 5 straight days!! That is a huge accomplishment for me. I tend to get board or just stop. Hoping this blog keeps me accountable.

Wilton Basics Class #1

Forever now I have been wanting to take the Wilton cake decorating classes. There are four different classes, meant to be taken in succession. I happened to be at Michael's at the right time to actually be able to sign up (usually I ask about it as I am checking out and they don't have the sign-ups for the next class and I'm told to come back, which I couldn't seem to handle). My class is the Wilton Basics class, held on Tuesday evenings at the local Michael's store.

This Tuesday was my first class. I had to purchase a few items for the class. I had to buy the class 1 kit by Wilton, some decorator icing, and 6 sugar cookies.

We went over how to bake a cake, tort a cake and fill it, and frost it. She gave us some tips and suggestions to get the cake to look the best. She showed us how to make homemade icing and what the different consistency's were and what they were best for.

We went over the items in our kit. How to fill a decorating bag and attach a coupler and tip. After that we filled up a bag of icing and got out our practice boards. We worked on just the star and getting the correct bag position and pressure down.

After we were finished we got out our cookies and went to town. They didn't look too bad. Nothing fancy as we were just using white icing but was good practice.

We have a whole list of things that we need to bring for the second class. Most items are found in any bakers kitchen. We have to bake a 8" cake and bring it in. We will be torting and filling, icing, and doing a piping gel transfer and decorating the cake. I'm scarred! (kidding...sort of)

I feel like our life has been in a whirlwind and I haven't had time to do much of anything. We are busy every weekend with something to do. The weeks are busy with work and the kids being out of school for the summer.

Last night we went and saw Harry Potter and The Deathy Hallows Part 2 at the drive ins with all the kids. Never.Again. Skyler and Jordan were crabby and of course Aiden refused to fall asleep. It was a learning experience to say the least. Next time, separate chairs and separate blankets (separate everything) for the bigger boys and I'm not sure about how to make it easier on Aiden. He is going to have to get used to it as this is something that we like to do and lets face it.... its a much cheaper option for a family of 5.5.

Today we have a baby shower to go to. Fun. I don't even want to go. Id like a weekend just to ourselves. Next weekend we have a birthday party 40 minutes away. It just never stops. There are a ton of To Do items that I would like to get done but it never seems to happen.

To Do:

Go look at/purchase crib
Go look at Dinning Room tables (need one that seats 6 vs 4)
Make a list of things that are needed for Logan's arrival

Long sleeve shirts
Snow bunting
Winter car seat cover
Pants
Crib

Look at standard/upgrade options for the modular home builder

I could go on and on...... nothing ever happens though. By the time we do the necessary stuff plus clean and grocery shop and do the extra stuff that we have to do - we are simply out of time.

Skyer and Jordan got their teacher assignments. Jordan got the teacher Skyler had last year and that is awesome! We really, really liked her and Skyler had an awesome year. Skyler has lucked out with teachers. This coming year Skyler has an ok teacher. I think she is tough but fair. Not horrible, not above and beyond great either. It'll be good for him though because he has only known teachers that were amazing. Not every teacher you have it going to be like that.

another BOY!! Logan (middle name to yet be finalized) Lajeunesse! He was being a very stubborn little boy and we almost walked out not knowing littlest man's gender. I have to go back on the 29th for another ultrasound as he would NOT get into position for one of the heart views. Whatever. A good excuse to see Littlest Man again.

Ultrasound Tomorrow

Tomorrow I will be 19 weeks 2 days. We will be heading in ~~not soon enough~~ at 9:30AM for our "big" ultrasound. I am so excited to see what my sweet baby looks like and to get the A-OK on his/her health. I love that my doctor does 3d/4d ultrasounds. It is so neat.

I feel good. No lactose intolerance, or running to the bathroom this time. Its nice. I feel good enough to try to stick to exercising during my lunch hour. I've broken out like crazy which is definitely new. Ive only gained a couple pounds so far. It seems ~~crazy~~ surreal that we are almost at the halfway mark and that we are going to be finding out TOMORROW if this sweet baby is a boy or a girl.

I think boy, Tim thinks girl. Who knows. As long as littlest one is healthy that is all that matters to me. Would I love a little girl? Probably. I have 3 wonderful little boys at home and am severely out numbered. I do love my mommas boys and the fact that I will always have them to take care of me when I'm older (and mow the lawn and do all the heavy stuff while growing up around the house). I definitely wouldn't mind having another little boy. They are so much fun!!

So... I am putting up a poll on the right. What do you all think?? Boy or Girl?

A little craftiness

I was in 4H all while growing up. Took home ec. in school. I know how to sew well. So why am I not making more things at home. Even if just for the fun of it. Why I am just thinking of this now?? Who knows!

I did make 2 tutu's. One for a secret pal exchange (that I got the shaft in).... whatever. Either way the tutu came out super cute. I only make it moderately puffy as I don't know the mother that well and I couldn't exactly ask her what her preference is without giving it away. The other one is for a newborn.

I had ordered Aiden a first birthday shirt. While I love how it came out - it was pretty darn expensive and SOOOO something I could have done.

I am going to make Aiden a tie and matching diaper cover for his cake smashing.

I am also going to make all the nieces personalized tee-shirts for Christmas (I only have 1 nephew and he is older).

Lets see how this goes! I am really excited and have it all mapped out in my head already. I cannot wait to get to the store and get some fabric stocked up!

Had the NT scan toady. Everything looked good as far as the ultrasound goes. BL2 was a bit stubborn on getting into position to be able to get the measurement. After some yoga posing baby cooperated just fine.

Today I went to my first appointment at my OB's office. I cannot say enough how much I like them. I got there and filled out a little bit of paperwork and got called back pretty quickly. Took a pregnancy test - SHOCKER - yup still pregnant. As soon as I got in the room my favorite NP (Sue) walks by and stops to chat. She is awesome. My appointment was actually with their new NP but Sue took me instead. Went through the usual first appointment stuff except I have no questions and I know all the rules. I am 10w2d today so Sue was unsure if we would even be able to hear anything this early on the doppler but said she would try and convinced the ultrasound tech to take me in if we couldn't hear anything so I wouldn't be worried. Sue tried for a good amount of time. Just when it was looking like we weren't going to be able to hear anything..... there it was! Yeah for hearing baby's heartbeat! Downside.... no u/s today.

I go back on 4/26/11. Full work up and ultrasound. Yay for seeing the baby.... boo for blood work. I am a pro now though.

FET consult. Menses started 4 days ago so got go ahead to start this cycle. Baseline blood work and ultrasound. All OK. Start Estradol 3x daily, prenatal and baby aspirin (plus a steroid). 2 frozen embryos (day 5) being transferred from their Syracuse office to Latham.

Feb 9
Lining check. 10-11. Blood work. All OK. Start Crinone, PIO and antibiotic on Friday. Transfer Wednesday.

Feb 11
First PIO. Even the though made me want to puke. This was honestly the ONLY thing making me nervous about the whole process. That big huge large needle in my butt. I know it is stupid. I also have a control issue. That and the fact that my loving husband constantly cracks jokes about this needle and how he is going to stab me with it. Neither of which ease my fears. So I did it myself. Fun. Not too bad actually. Lets see if I continue to say that after a bazillion days in a row of getting this shot.

Feb 15
I hate PIO already. The shot itself doesn't even hurt. Its like 5 hours later that my poor butt starts really hurting. Its not super bad. Best way I can describe it.... a deep muscle bruise on top of yet another one (and keep adding for how ever many shots have been done at that side to date). I am just taking it one day at a time. I will get through it.

Feb 16
Transfer day!!

Arrived at 10AM as instructed. Paid for the procedure (deep breath and a lighter checking account later). Sat down and waited for a few. I then got called back. Changed into the pretty gown, robe, slipper socks and hair cover. I was then brought back into the procedure room. Got on the table and got a warm blanket (YAY!). They brought Tim to get his lovely sanitary outfit on and cap. I got a Valium and blood drawn. After that I just relaxed for a few. Dr. Grossman came in and talked to me. Told us that both of our embryos survived the thaw and looked great (whatever that is supposed to mean). He left to get his stuff and came back in. I got all prepped (legs in stirrups - you get the idea). He did the trial transfer and then gave the go ahead to get the loaded cath with the embryos. Transfer was as simple as the trial. After a check to make sure they were in fact out of the cath I was all set. I had to lay down for about 20 minutes. I think for the last 5 I thought I was going to pee on the table. My bladder hurt so bad. I can only remember one other time where I had to go that bad. The nurse came in and gave me permission to get dressed. OMG not a second to soon. She actually made a comment about it. Said she always comes in in the nick of time when patients think they cannot possible wait another minute to empty their bladder. Got my appointment for beta. Next Friday. 2/25 at 8:30 (If I remember right it takes approximately 2.5hrs for the results to be on their website but 6.5hrs for them to call you). I haven't decided if I will test before hand. Last time I tested at 7dp5dt. Hopefully I can wait it out, but I am not a patient person. I will not test before that time though.

HPT BFN   seeing the stark white makes me very said. I am not hopeful that that will change. I have pretty much given up hope on this.

Beta day!
Snowing like crazy this morning. Had to have Tim bring me up for my blood draw (was a little late). Got blood drawn at around 8:45AM. I am frantically hitting F5 to refresh the patient portal and nothing is up yet. Makes my paranoia think that it is negative and this is a sign right. Last time it only took 3hrs for it to post - and it has already been almost 5hrs. OMG.... I am going insane trying to focus here.

Beta in.... 24.   That is really, really low. I have to go back in on Monday morning for a redraw to see if it is doubling or if it is a chemical pregnancy. I've cried a lot since seeing the beta number. I really want this baby.

Feb 27
Bought another box of HPT's. Going to retest. In my weird brain logic - if this is a chemical pregnancy then my already really low beta number should be going down and soon not be detectable on a HPT. I want to know and prepare myself before I get a call and am required to have a conversation with a nurse.
Tested..... still positive. Dang it, I am going crazy being in this am I or am I not limbo. I am scared and nervous. I just want to know if this little bean stuck and is viable or not. Please little bean, burrow in and hold on.

Feb 28
Repeat beta this morning. As if I am not nervous enough, I had to sit in the waiting room for over an hour. If it was a regular appointment I would have left. Waiting that long is ridiculous. At least let me know when I check in that you are running THAT far behind. The nurse apologized and told me she would call me as soon as the results were in but it probably wouldn't be until after lunch (Friday it was 5hrs later so I wasn't expecting anything before lunch). I just hope they call soon as I feel sick waiting this news. Today's numbers are so important.

Ultrasound: shows 1 sac HCG 697 or something like that

March 11
Ultrasound: shows 1 sac and 1 yolk sac. Beta almost 7000. LOVELY nurse today who bitterly took 2 seconds with the ultrasound. I don't even think she tried to see a HB. No joke, wanded me, measured sac, printed a pic - see you next week. It took longer to get undressed then it did for the ultrasound. Now I am still worried because a HB wasn't seen or heard. My paranoia sets it and I am afraid after the beta numbers we have seen being low that this is like last time and nothing is developing. Praying for a HB next Friday. Hoping it was a combination of her being in a rush and us having a late implanter on our hands. PLEASE let everything be OK.

March 18
We have a HB! 122! I am so excited! Our little grain of rice! (Thats what it looks like on an US at this point) SOOO so so excited. Why am I still nervous? I have been so anxious this whole time.... with the low beta and no HB last week. I need to just relax. I was told to call my OB and set up an appointment with them. Next Friday is my last appointment with my RE. Now to tell people!

In case you couldn't tell.... we are a BIG hockey family. Not only do we love LOVE love watching our teams play on TV (the house is split with NHL..... 2 for NJ and 2 for Philly - makes for an interesting dynamic) - we also really enjoy getting out there and supporting our local AHL team. This so happens to be the team owned by NJ.

We went to the Albany Times Union Center yesterday decked out in our red and black (even Aiden had on the home team colors). Aiden LOVES the games too - probably not for the actually hockey but hey its a start. He loves the zamboni and will watch it go around the ice all night long. He loves when the sirens go off when Albany scores a goal (which they did....5 times last night). He's not even scared when the players check one another into the glass (which is good as we like to sit by the glass) or when the crowd screams. Such a good little hockey fan in training!

Durring the warm up, Dan Kelly tossed the puck he was using over the glass for the boys. They were so excited to have an official AHL puck used by the Devils! SCORE! Thank you Kelly!!

All in all it was a very good night as always.

Ready, Set, Run!

A wonderful ladies blog that I follow, Laura @ The G Family inspired me to try, as she is, to run. Thanks Laura for the inspiration and motivation to get back into running! I ran on Monday but then have slacked. I am hoping, using some of the accountability things she talks about, that I can do it. The thing is, once I get into a routine and past the first week or so of doing it, its no big deal.

I am going to try running. Even that statement scares me.This is no easy task as I HATE running. If I am going to work out, I do better in a group setting where via other people I am held accountable. When it comes to making myself do it, I tend to not hold myself accountable. I want to try Zumba but I can't find anyone to go with me as of right now. Maybe in the future.

In order to ~~try~~ keep myself in check, I think I am going to tally the miles ran. After a couple weeks I will try to figure out a short term and long term goal. We will see how it goes. I will post it on the side bar and keep it updated.

I ran a mile and a half straight, without stopping or slowing down on my lunch today. Not too bad as I haven't ran in forever. I did it on the treadmill. I wasn't super fast or anything but it was slightly faster then a job. Hoping to be able to increase that amount and speed. We shall see. Right now, I'm just hoping I don't fall over lol

Can't wait to design our holiday cards! They seriously have so many options that I love this year! I have spent so much time just going through their site. Tim and I are getting family pictures done this weekend so at minimum that will be included on the card. Maybe one of just the kids too. I want to start doing this every year and make it a tradition. I think it will be kinda fun to come up with a new idea and a new card every year. My only problem will be selecting just one!

I absolutely LOVE shutterfly! I have only recently starting using them but so far I am very impressed. I ordered a photo book of Aiden's first three months and received it a couple weeks ago. I had it in less then a week! Unbelievable. I know it will be a memento we treasure forever!

HALLOWEEN 2010!!

Although I personally don't enjoy halloween very much the kids love it. My mom got them haunted house brownie kits and they had a blast decorating them (eating them too)!

We all went out Trick-or-Treating on foot. Aiden rode his stroller and didn't fuss one bit. I thought it was bound to be a misserable evening because it was FREEZING! He litterally made NO noise. He was so intrested in all the kids (and eating his hand). We had fun dispite the cold, but I am glad it is over for the year!

We carved pumpkins last night. Skyler and Jordan actually did all of theirs...from start to finish this year. I did the New Jersey Devils logo as we are all big hockey fans. We had a really good time. No arguing. It was a good evening. Topped it off with a pizza and the night ended well. Love spending time with my boys. Even Aiden participated by trying to eat his pumpkin.

We are so busy lately that it is hard to find time to do anything. I need to make a home schedule because nothing... NOTHING is getting done. Since going back to work, housework is severely lacking.

I work 6:30-3PM.... babysit until 5:30PM... then have to make dinner.... bath for the kids and get them all ready for bed. They go to sleep between 7:30-8:30. After which there is always dinner dishes and cleaning up, never ending laundry. Not to mention trying to get back into a routine of working out. Oh yeah, and I am taking online classes. Have to fit in hubby time too.

Then on the weekends the house needs to be cleaned, Skyler and Jordan play soccer (oh yeah... we have practices Wednesday evenings....another thing to try to fit it), grocery shopping, clothes shopping for a rapidly growing 3 month old (skinny and tall kid fits in NOTHING), monthly pictures at the local photo studio (who totally butchered his 3 month shots... I hate being stuck with a new photographer.... this will NOT happen at 4 months). Time to visit family, and take the kids to do additional activities..... yeah Scouts starts up this month too.... Definitely time for a schedule so I don't go crazy..... right now I feel spread thin and that nothing is getting done fully.

I love to read. I am pretty much always reading something. Since Aiden was born my reading has obviously slowed as it is hard to find time (much less energy) to read. I am trying to remember what it is that I have read this year. I know there are more.... I just cant think of it right now. (I re-read the Twlight series but I am not counting that. I will also be re-reading some of the Harry Potter series before the next movie)

Day 16 - a song that makes you cry (or nearly)

Time Marches on by Tracy Lawrence...... this was written by a family friend about all his brothers and sisters... It was actually my "Uncle Ricky's" brother. It makes me think of growing up with them all and all the times we shared prior to Ricky's young death.

I'll be Missing you by Puff Daddy ..... Makes me think of my Uncle Rick and how we lost him when he was only 42.

Day 18 - whatever tickles your fancy

Looking into taking a trip to go to the zoo.... not really sure what is the closest zoo to us though. I know there is one in Syracuse (2.5hrs away...cheap) and one in Bronx (3hrs away...not so cheap) but other then that I am not really sure what is out there. We as a family LOVE the animals and it would be a fun day trip.

Day 19 - a talent of yours

I used to dance. Really well. Like Northeast Champion several years running in multiple categories. I used to do a form of dance called clogging. It is kinda like tap except there are two more metal plates on the bottom on the shoe (rather then the two for tap... clogging doubles up and there are two on the heel and two on the toe...causing double the beats per minute).

I can read insanely fast.

Day 20 - a hobby of yours

I LOVE to read. I read a lot and it has been fueled by getting the nook. So many books at my finger tips!

NACHO DORITO TACO SALAD
1 lb. ground beef
To taste; chili powder, onion powder, season salt, garlic powder, Worcestershire
Brown it.
1 head lettuce
Tomato
Green pepper
Onion
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 lb. Doritos nacho chips, crushed up
Kraft Catalina dressing

Shred lettuce. Cut tomato, green pepper, onion. Add shredded cheddar cheese. Toss with the beef mixture. Put the nacho chips crushed up in with lettuce. Toss. Put Catalina dressing in to taste and mix.

Why is it that those are the only two that come to mind? They were both good (as was the movies and in high school we had a Holocaust survivor speak in out class).

For some reason I haven't found many that I have enjoyed immensely. Maybe I should look into adding one to my queue of books to read. Any suggestions?

I actually am putting this on my to read list. We watched the movie last night and it was pretty good. I am thinking like all decent movies..... the books will be much better. Worst case.... I don't like it. At least I have an idea of what to read after the book I am currently reading is finished.

We went in on Thursday due to Aiden failing his BPP at the office. We spent a few hours there and he was doing alright. My doctor sent us home with instructions to return at 6AM to start the induction. This way we weren't up all night and could at least rest before starting pitocin. We returned and checked in around 5:50AM. I got all hooked up and my IV line in very quickly. We waited around after that for my doctor to get there to give the orders to start the induction (they have to see the strip from the monitors etc before giving the go ahead). She arrived around 9AM, checked me (2-3 60% -3) and gave the go ahead. It took forever for me to being contracting. I finally started around 11AM. By 12 noon I was in severe pain. Non-Stop I felt like my lower back was shattered. It killed to even be sitting. On top of that when I would have a contraction I felt like my hips were being broken. I would have to lift myself off the bed because any pressure on my pelvis made it much worse. I couldn't relax even in between contractions. My nurse (Lee Ann) came in and checked me.... I was only 4 full and -2.... I was making progress but slow. I knew it would take forever if I couldn't relax. With my body as tense as it was it just couldn't do what it needed to. I asked for an epidural. It felt like forever until the Dr got there. After I was in bliss lol. I sat and watched animal planet. Around 1:45PM I starting feeling some pain down by my left hip so when Lee Ann came back in my husband let her know. She said she would check me and then she would up the epidural medication. She checked me and said it was time to have a baby - that I was complete. WOW! She told me to try to relax when I got the pain and she was paging my doctor. After she called her she came back in and set up the room. My doctor got there around 1:55PM. Aiden was born at 2:05PM (Lee Ann actually had me practice push while my doctor was getting her gown/gloves etc on.... she halted that quickly because he was right there).

We were released from the hospital on Sunday. Life since has been hectic and tiring and amazing. Aiden is a very relaxed fellow. He only cries when he is hungry which is every 2 1/2-3hrs. He goes to the doctor for the first time tomorrow.

This photo makes me sad as we had to find new homes for this beautiful dogs due to allergies. It was very difficult for our entire family. (Lexi [L] and Zeus [R])

This one makes me sad because it brings back memories of my Uncle Ricky (who is this young boys father). He was the only father figure I had and I used to spend all my time at their house. This picture was taken by him after he made a slip-n-slide in a VERY muddy back yard.... He died when I was entering high school. Massive heart attack...age 42. I no longer live close to this boy in the picture, well man now. Its hard to think back and remember those times still today. Such a piece of my heart was lost when he died.

In the hospital all hooked up to the monitors. Got my IV all in place. Now just waiting on my doctor to get here to start the induction. The joys of hurry up and wait.

40 Week Appointment

I went in for my 40 week appointment today and had my routine ultrasound. Aiden weighed in at 6lbs 15oz. That is about as normal as my appointment went.

However.... being the stubborn little fire that he is.... he refused to show movement. This then caused a bit of commotion in the office. The tech left the office the first time to talk to the doctor and brought me back a nice sugary juice box. Yup, that is correct. It was snack time. I felt like I was back in first grade in circle time. Sweet! She then continued to press, poke, wiggle etc etc the ultrasound probe trying to get him to cooperate.

Nope. The second time the tech left she came back with the doctor. My stomach is quite possibly still on the ultrasound room floor. I was instructed that baby Aiden was receiving eviction orders. He failed his BPP and my blood pressure was high. I was told I could go home, get my stuff and go directly to the hospital.

I left the office around 2PM and called Tim and told him meet me at the house. I went home, talked with work and squared away what I could and finished grabbing our last minute items. We packed up the car (made a quick stop to pick up Tim's medicine at the pharmacy) and were on our way. The hospital is about 20 minutes away so we got there around 3 or 3:30. After registering at the desk, we were given our paperwork and off to Labor & Delivery we went.

After donning the awesome gown, spending time on the monitors, two dinner trays, one blood draw and urinalysis later..... its now 6PM. They called the doctor and she sent us home with strict orders to rest and return at 6AM to start Pitocin.

Although I am a bit bummed to be sent home.... it truly is the best on my end (and the doctors). A 3AM or later delivery would have been exhausting. The last thing I want is to be up all night in labor. This way, I get to come home, relax, get some sleep, then report first thing in the morning to have a BABY!!!

Dunkin Donuts Strawberry Coolatta's are pretty much the most awesome thing. I love them. I much prefer a smoothie (strawberry or strawberry banana of course) but on the go this is my go to drink of choice (I am not a coffee drinker). One of these can pretty much make my morning. I usually get one once a week on a Saturday and it definitely makes me smile!!! Strawberry just-about-anything is pretty much a check in the win column for me.

First off... I am always reading something. How fast I get through it varies on whatever else I have going on at the time, but I am definitely a reader. I recently bought the Nook as I am running out of space to store books. This is both an awesome and an awful thing lol ... I now have Barnes and Noble at my fingertips versus actually having to go to the store to purchase a book. This equates to me probably spending more money on more books. Whatever. It makes me happy.

That being said..... I loved the Harry Potter books. ALL OF THEM. I am currently reading the House of Night series.... I believe I am on book seven of that. Those are probably my two favorite series of all time. I love Nora Roberts books and have read most everything by her too. Being that I am almost done with this current series my search will soon start for another good book.

My favorite television program? Like, of all time or currently? As we are in the summer season and all of my shows are taking their little break this is tough.

During the year, I watch Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and Fringe (Heroes and Lost used to be in there as well until one was taken off the air and the other one ended....the last season of Lost sucked BTW). Of those, Fringe is probably my favorite.

During the summer months I will be watching Big Brother and I am also LOVING this new mini-series called Persons Unknown.

Growing up.... some of my favorites were Full House and Saved By the Bell.

Hmmm.... I love the classics like Dirty Dancing and Grease. I liked Gone in Sixty Seconds and the Fast and the Furious set.

I loved all the Harry Potter films (and I probably couldn't pick just one as my favorite). Me and the boys' have been known to sit and watch them all back to back before the next release. I am excited about the release of the next one later this year. It is probably one of the films that I make sure I see in theaters. I will leave you with the trailer.

c) recovering from a crappy appointment

I went shopping and was all three. OOPS!

First the appointment update....
Sue stripped my membranes hoping to put me into labor. She wants me to come in next week for an ultrasound to check the placenta and it will be decided if we are going to induce on my due date 7/2 or the Wednesday after 7/7 as this is the latest she will let me go (my doctor has scheduled hospital days of Friday and Wednesdays). We shall see what happens on Thursday unless something happens before then. Not counting on it.

So I bought a Moby Wrap. I've been eyeing it for a while now and finally picked it up. I have yet to take it out and look at it but I've checked it out online so I will probably just leave it in the packaging for the time being. I can't use a regular baby carrier as they hurt my back so this is the perfect solution for me. I am excited!

I of course picked up a bunch of other stuff for Aiden.... more clothes, some toys etc etc etc. You know.... all the necessities. I should stock up on real necessities when I stress shop lol I seem to always shop for Aiden during these times. Lucky guy.

I have pondered that thought since last night trying to come up with a single favorite song. I didn't think it would honestly be as difficult as it is for me.

Let's start that my music taste is pretty much all over the place. It really depends on my mood. I can go for the pop or oldies and just as easily swing into the alternative rock or heavy metal.

I like some Christina Aguilera, Daughtry, Three Days Grace, Godsmack, Pussy Cat Dolls, Fergie, All American Rejects, Soilwork, Guns & Roses, Madonna (her old stuff mainly), Janet Jackson, 3 Doors Down, Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, Nickleback, Mudvayne.... just to name a few of the artists on my IPOD on any given day.

Then there is some old stuff that really hits notes with me. The man that was like my father, his brother wrote a country song all about his brothers and sisters growing up. I can pick them each out individually throughout the song and laugh and cry at the same time.

Right now... today...this morning.... I'm liking listening to Chris Daughtry. Up next on my IPOD is It's Not Over so we will go with that for today.... or this one is one of my favs.... (its the song from our wedding)

It is NEVER set in stone. Ask me again in an hour.... I can almost guarantee I will be onto the next genre and will pick a different song.

(My sons' favorite song currently is Do What You Do by Mudvayne.... its...interesting seeing them try to sing the only part they know...which is only part of the chorus. Its cute and makes me laugh every time they get in the car.... and it usually plays while we are in there).

I had my growth ultrasound on Tuesday. Aiden is still stubborn as ever (THANKS Amber... you totally jinxed me on that one). He refused to let us see his cute little face. He had his hand up by his mouth, along with umbilical cord and part of the placenta, so we couldn't get ANY shot of his face. I was really bummed. I am also making no progress what so ever. I know that doesn't mean anything but still can't help being bummed. On a positive note, Aiden isn't too ginormous that they would induce me early (dang it... was hoping to get induction orders for 39 weeks....*sigh*). He weighed in at 6lbs 9oz (37 weeks 4 days). I believe the sheet on my file said that that was 41% percentile. Not really sure how much he will gain between then and when I deliver. Hopefully not a lot lol. On another note, I think Aiden's head is hitting a nerve on the inside of my right hip. It is really painful whenever I move/sit/stand. Other then that I feel good still. Swelling is down (although the temp has been down so we shall see what this warm weekend brings).

Officially FULL TERM!! YAY!! Hear that Aiden?!?!? You are welcome to come any, and I do mean ANY time now. Not that I don't love your kicks in the ribs or head butts to the bladder but it's getting to be that time to be an outside baby. We are going to check on your size and placenta function on Tuesday and decide how long they will let you continue to ~~torture~~ take up residence before an eviction notice is issued.

I am still here... not that I wouldn't love to be laid up in the hospital with needles and IV's and obnoxious fetal monitors hooked up to me while I sit uncomfortable in my Miss America pageant dress... but apparently he has other plans in store. Just a waiting game now.....

ok... I'm done... I do NOT want to be pregnant ANYMORE!! I think I am going to starting charging room and board... I am NOT an all inclusive vacation stay at a resort at some Hawaiian Island.... AIDEN YOU NEED TO GET OUT NOW!!!!!! ♥

35.5 weeks

Had my appointment today. Nothing new to report. Had the group b strep swab done. Should have those results back by my appointment next week. Sue checked me but nothing there (unlike horror stories about this being awful....she was actually really gentle and I only experienced slight discomfort.... same as you get with a pap). His head is nice and low but I am not dilated at all. Dang. I think Aiden enjoys ~~torturing~~ snuggling inside his momma. She will check me again at my 37 week appointment. I also have an ultrasound set up to check his size and my placenta function (she does this for all her IVF patients as she believes IVF can lead to the placenta dying out earlier then normal). If they have to induce for size it will be determined at this appointment. I think his size is probably just fine. I think he will be about 8ish pounds...then again I could be way off lol I am experiencing some mild menstrual like cramps from the internal but it is very mild. My luck and the way Aiden has shown to be defiant and stubborn..... he will stay until I am overdue and he is forced out.

I've been sick the past two days but I ~~think~~ hope that I am starting to feel better. Although... I haven't yet tried any solids.... last two times didn't go so well. Sue at my doctors office suggested ice cream and Popsicles lol too bad I think I am lactose intolerant to some degree so that would not help my stomach. I do love me some ice cream though!

Busy day.... but got nothing done? Oh well!

I feel like I did a ton today but I really didn't.

I went to a couple store this morning. Got some odds and end stuff for Aiden (I am really t-r-y-i-n-g to not get stuff until after our shower on Saturday). I picked up odds and end stuff (petroleum jelly, Desitin, Tylenol, Gas Drops, Germ-X, wipes for the diaper bag, laundry soap, a blanket for his pictures etc). I also picked up some of the stuff that we are going to need for our hospital bag (comfy PJ's that I can wear when people come visit, lip balm, toiletries etc).
I dug out one of our IPOD's and charged it. Still need to locate the other one.
I grabbed all the stuff that we currently have for Aiden and washed it. Figured I would get it out of the way seems how we will have more to wash this weekend.
I need to locate the charger for the video camera and charge it (then put it in the bag).
I need to charge both batteries for our camera after the shower.
I still need to go to the bank and get a roll of change for the vending machine. Also going to grab some cash (as we use our bank card for everything) in case we prefer to order something (the nurses desk has menu's for all the places that deliver to them).
I need to grab a couple snack items (not sure what yet) for Tim for while I am in labor.
I need to have both cars vacuumed out so that we can install the car seat bases in the next couple weeks.

I still need to go get a black pair of flip flops before the shower on Saturday (I know which ones I want I just didn't make it to that store).
I need to pick up a couple gifts for the shower (I know what I am getting).

Tomorrow I am having a girls day with Amber so that should be a ton of fun! I can't wait! I will actually be able to pick up 2 of the gifts while I am at the mall (Flip flops and the other gift I will get Saturday morning).

I am actually feeling really good today. Could be because I have a four day weekend that started today! Either way I will take it!

Busy Week!.... well, kinda...

Theoretically, I have a busy week. In all actuality... I am going to be bored out of my mine. I am only working through Wednesday this week. I have Thursday and Friday off.... but nothing to do. I hate sitting around being bored. I do have to grab a couple things at the store but that won't exactly take up much time. I only took the time off because I am maxed out for PTO at work so I had to use up a couple days. I figured I would take my birthday (Thursday May 20th) and the following day off seems how it is a Friday (and who seriously wants to go back to work on a Friday?).

Tim's birthday is Saturday May 22. He asked to have strawberry cake so I do have to make that. We will probably have cake for the both of us on Thursday (Friday we have to help set up some things for the shower on Saturday when everyone gets out of work for the day). Saturday is our shower so that should be fun.

We went to a wedding on Saturday and it was nice. Back to work this morning after the always to short weekend. But hey.... its my wednesday!

32.5 week appointment

Yesterday I had my doctors appointment. Nothing fun and exciting. Aiden is doing good. Finally head down! So that is good exciting news I guess. Go back in 2 weeks (that will be the GBS appointment...fun). After that appointment I will be making one for an ultrasound so that is exciting. I cant wait to see how big the little man is.

We are going to a wedding this weekend so that should be fun. Other then that nothing is really going on. Next weekend is our shower so I am excited for that. Our birthdays are also next week.

Medications or Natural? prefer nothing, epidurals scare me lol, will take something if I get to a point where I cant handle it. (Didn't have anything with the boys).

C-Section? Water Birth? Natural? hoping for a vaginal delivery! - If a tub is available then I would do that again! (My 2nd son was born in the tub). The hospital I am delivering at only has one.

Will you cry when you hold your baby for the first time? I'm sure.

Tour...and random stuff...

On Tuesday Tim and I went on the hospital tour. There are some pro’s on con’s but overall I feel good about where we are choosing to deliver our son. The lady giving the tour was… not sure how to quite describe her… very eager and excited about the tour and new babies. She definitely had enthusiasm for her job. We had a pretty large group… at least 10 pregnant woman and their spouses. She made all the men get up so pregnant woman could sit… “pregnancy is for pampering” is what she kept repeating. Overall, there were several times I had to bite back laughter at things she came out with it. Tim was good through the whole tour – minus the small bit of anxiety in the labor and delivery room. He is fine with all the baby stuff and surprisingly not nervous about any of that. The only part he has issues with is the labor and delivery. He hates to see me in pain and being that I plan on holding out on any drugs that will be an issue. I am not against drugs or an epidural. If I get to a point in my labor where I really need it and have exhausted all my other options to reduce pain (walking, water, etc.) then I will absolutely think about getting something at that point. I just hope Tim can handle it. I hope for his sake (and mine) this labor is relatively short. We saw the little ones in the nursery and I can’t wait for that to be Aiden. We saw a proud daddy escorting his brand new little girl to get her first bath. It was such a sweet moment that we got to share in. After the tour, we filled out the pre-registration forms and handed them in. Another big check off of our list.

Speaking of big checks on our list…. We are going to interview/visit and in-home daycare on Sunday. She is someone that I have talked with via the fertility clinics forums. She was one of the ones that answered a lot of my questions and offered support before and during my cycle. I have never actually met her. I really hope it works out and we are able to secure childcare for our son. That will be a huge relief.

We also have to call our insurance company to check on pre-authorization for the delivery. I think the doctor handles it but we need to call to verify it is done (not even sure when it is actually done)….

Next week I have to call our HR company and set up my short term disability claim. That way when I go into the doctors in 2 weeks I will have the forms.

After that I think all major things will be accomplished. I cannot finish the nursery or pick up everything that we do not have for Aiden until after the shower (May 22). Then…. I will be able to fully relax and be ready for our little man to arrive! 9 weeks…. 9 WEEKS! Cannot wait….

Pediatrician Interview

Tim and I went to interview a pediatrician today. WAIT.... let me rewind.

Several weeks ago we started out by going through our insurance company's providers and narrowing down the list. We decided we wanted a group practice, a doctor that was male, ~~someone that I can understand~~ that spoke very well english. We also wanted a practice that was conveniently located to our home... meaning preferably the Cohoes/Latham/Colonie area and not the Albany/Schenectady/Clifton Park area.

We ended up finding two practices that we felt confident that met all these requirements and figured it was at least a starting point in our search.

A little background... my boys... have gone through two pediatricians since moving to this area and I STILL don't like where they are. Its outdated and I've had several differences of opinions with them. However, I am at the point that when they need their physicals this summer.... I will probably switch them to a family practice where Tim and I go seems how they are older and we like where we go. A baby on the other hand I would like to see a pediatrician.

Anyways... I had Tim call the practices and set up a time that was easiest for him to work around with his schedule. His is tougher then mine to work with. One practice was on lunch when he called and he left his name and number and..... they never called back. A big red X in my opinion. You don't care enough to call back.... well I don't care enough to send my child to your practice. The other practice is where we went today.

Fast forward.... today at 1:30PM we went in to meet with the potential doctor. Things went much better then I had expected. He answered all of our questions prior to us asking them. The only thing we really had to discuss with him was what he recommended because I have to some degree a milk intolerance and Tim had an issue with milk based formula. He was more then happy to discuss this with us. Overall we left feeling good. We laughed with the doctor as well as had serious conversation. We never felt rushed or pressured.

I am glad to say that I think this is it for us. YAY for one more thing being off of our To-Do-List (that seems ever growing). Too bad we haven't been so lucky in finding reliable, affordable childcare for when I go back to work (my maternity leave will be 8 weeks).

Sleep?: Aiden's new favorite time is around 3:30ish..... its party in mommy's tummy time.

Best moment this week?: Tim realizing that the end is close lol Like one of those... OMG this is actually gonna happen moments. Ummm.... you are just NOW realizing that?! Figured the shots for IVF, ultrasounds, doctors appointments, NURSERY, etc etc etc were a give-a-way.... guess not lol At least he now nows it is close (the wonders of installing an app on his phone that tells him how big Aiden is and how many days til the due date lol).

Movement?: Yes! Tim is finally getting to see/feel him more. Aiden must be warming up to daddy :) He was rolling pretty good last night.

Food cravings?: Not really

Gender? Boy!

Labor signs?: Nope. Hopefully it stays that way for at least another 8 weeks.

Picked up some ABC blocks for Aiden while I was at the store (Hey gotta get my baby buying fix where it is allowed). We got the glider last weekend. LOVE IT!!! We are painting the bathroom this weekend. Should be super quick and easy. After that there are only 2 more rooms that I want to have painted before Aiden gets here (Living room and the boys' bedroom). One at a time.

Coming Home Outfit

Here is Aiden's coming home outfit. We wanted something cute that matched his hat that we got him as many pictures will be taken (as well as hospital pictures). He will look very handsome!

Also, on another note. I called to schedule our hospital tour. Tried to make it for a saturday as Tim doesn't get home from work until 7PM M-TH. That didn't work out well. They only do one weekend tour a month and April's is booked, we have plans that cant be changed for May, and June's is the last saturday of the month so literally only a few days before our due date. I scheduled it for April 27th at 5:30pm. I'm kinda excited to go as I haven't been to this hospital's L&D even in visiting.

First, we ordered two different Skip Hop bags as we were unsure of the size and wanted to make sure we have a big bag for overnight/extended trips as well as for daycare (which I still have to find someone that I can afford and like and can depend on). About a week ago these came in. Love them. Tons of pockets inside and I think will work really well for us.

Then we got our travel system delivered yesterday!! Tim's mom bought it off our registry and had it shipped to us!!! Love it!

Here are his updated letters. Added the monkeys to the A/D/N and hung them above his crib. Bought an area rug. It is brown/tan/blue. Figured it will help tie in his bedding (as that is browns) once we have it. Here is a close up of the rug.

Lastly, here is what his room looks like so far. We also added in a 6 cube shelf for added storage. If we ever get a glide/rocker/recliner.... something.... it will go next to this.

Tim is going to try to recover his server (it crashed).... this server houses all our photos. Im thinking above the combo on the left I will add three matted/framed photos of animals at animal kingdom. Not really sure what to put on the other walls. Still trying to come up with something and a back up plan in case Tim can't restore those photos.

We went to Babies R Us this weekend and created a registry. That, I totally found overwhelming. I feel like I had no clue what quantities to register for. The big stuff was easier it was just everything else. At least I got a chunk of it don't and hopefully I can adjust it from home if need be. We also made a small registry at Target so people had the option if they wanted.

This is the bedding we ended up registering for. Its cute. I am working on Aiden's letters today. They are different shades of blue (as we are trying to bring in as much blue accents as possible). I got monkey stickers from the scrapbook section of Michael's and will probably add them to either every letter or every other. Here is a picture of it just after I painted it.
I still have to put the monkeys on it but I think I am going to wait until later to do that.

20 Week Appointment

I had my 20 week appointment yesterday and big U/S (19w6d). Baby boys heartrate was 150. He is pretty stubborn. At first he was covering his goods with his hand then after 2 seconds he flashed his stuff (and continued to flash the goods every chance he got). No matter what we did we could not get a good face shot. He had his hands up over his head and would NOT move them (no matter how much we tried to irritate him into moving...and the techs definately tried).
I met the doctor - she is really nice. Everything looks good. I go back in a month... March 11.

We went out and bought a few things with the boys last night to celebrate as a family. Got some really cute monkey stuff.

This is what we have been deciding instead of a name lol. I love monkeys and think they are so cute so I am pretty sure this is what we are going with. Both decals and the set of 3 prints is from a seller on Etsy. The branches will be dark green so they wont fade into the wall.... if we have a boy the monkeys will be brown....purple if we have a girl. One monkey decal will go over the small dresser - kind of coming out of the door jam. The other will be on the wall with the window, appearing to be coming out of the window (the branch that is). The 3 prints will go above the combo. We will buy letters at Michael's and do those ourselves for above the crib. I also want to get a rug....probably a tan shade..... shag maybe? not really sure on that yet.

Only down side to this is the boys bedding (if we have a boy) wont be able to be registered for as I found it online and we will only be registering at Babies-R-US. Oh well. I really like it and couldnt find anything there that would go with this.

Then again.... it could totally change! lol Doubtfull though.

As a family we made baby a monkey at Build-A-Bear over the weekend. Monk-Monk is now sitting on the dresser (complete with 2 hearts - one from each of the boys). They also got baby a monkey blanket (YAY clearance items!)

Project Nursery....Success

So, we painted this weekend. I'm not gonna lie.... my body is now killing me. I hate painting. Thankfully it is over now and I won't have to get it done when I am bigger and less comfortable moving around. That is the main reason I just wanted to get it out of the way. I feel pretty good now so why not. We finally got to take the furniture out of the boxes from the furniture store. YAY! We got Baby's Dream Furniture... the Infinity Collection. We got the crib, combo and small dresser in Cherry. I love them!! Now the countdown until Feb 11th (17 days BTW...) begins! I can't wait to find out what little one is!! Hopefully s/he is not being stubborn like at the last ultrasound.

Project Nursery....Started

So this weekend, I saw that there was a sale going on at Huck Finn's so we headed down there on Saturday. They were having a massive sale on everything baby. Everything from individual pieces to 3 or 4pc sets. We ended up finding a set that we like. It is in Cherry. We put a deposit on it to hold it and next weekend will will pay it off and pick it up. We could have paid for it but we didn't have a truck available nor someone to help Tim lift the pieces. This also gives us a week to umm... unhaul what used to be my office/Tim's music room.

We, well mostly Tim, ran cable wire from that room to the living room for my business class line. My desk and stuff is now set up down there in a corner. I hauled out all of my stuff and found new homes for everything. Tim, this week, will have to figure out what he is doing with with his guitars, amps, electronic drum kit, etc. He also has to find someone to help him move at least the amps because they are really heavy.

We went to Home Depot in our adventures this weekend. Main purpose was to get ends for the cable wire BUT while I was there I picked up, no lie, almost every shade of green color cards. I now have like a million to choose from. I need to narrow down the girls bedding (as Tim really likes this one set if we are having a boy).... this way I can choose the shade of green to do the room. I don't want the room overwhelmingly blue/pink so we are going with a green....I'm thinking a shade of sage.... nothing too minty or blindingly bright. A nice medium sage color.... I just cant seem to find the shade I'm envisioning in my head on those stupid color things lol. So once I pick the girls bedding I will go to babies r us armed with color samples and pick the one that matches (both beddings have green in it and I will choose a girls bedding that has basically the same color green that the boys bedding has in it).

So that is where I am at the moment. I can't seem to find a picture of the nursery furniture but I will definitely take a picture when we get them here next weekend. I will also post a picture of both of the bedding that we like....hopefully tonight I will have that.

Appointment with new OB

So I had an appointment this morning with a different office. Now granted, I have only been there once but I love it!. The office is very up to date. The office staff is really nice. The nurse that drew my blood/weighed me was awesome. They even squeezed me in for an ultrasound.

Little one was being very stubborn and wasn't allowing them to get the measurements that they needed. I emptied my bladder and almost ended up with an internal ultrasound but luckily the baby moved just enough for them to get what they needed. The problem was the baby had its chin tucked and they couldn't get a CRL. The baby was laying so we were looking straight on to its face with its one arm over its head. It was cute....and very stubborn.

There were two techs (one was in training) - they were both really funny and talkative and explained everything. They are so much better then I have experienced lately. They remind me a lot of CNY and that is saying something. I met with the NP today and she was really nice. We laughed and talked about somethings and I felt really comfortable. I go back in 2 weeks so I can get more blood drawn then I go on February 11 for my big ultrasound. I can't wait.

Merry Christmas and such

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I am more excited for Christmas this year then I have been in the past... probably because of being pregnant and the excitement that that brings itself. Just thinking of the fact that I will have a 5 month old on this holiday in 2010 is amazing. It brings a smile to my face.

I did call and set up an appointment with a new OB. We will see how it goes. I keep forgetting to cancel my appointment with the other doctor. I'll do it next week when things aren't so crazy. One of my friends that is pregnant goes there and she loves the office - so hopefully I will too. They said at my first appointment they will decide if they will need my records. There really isn't anything in them.... I mean other then CNY's info.... I had the NT scan done at Dr. Clements office but unfortunately the lab was closed after my appointment and they are only open during the hours that I work....so with the holidays and the busy time of year at work.... there was no way I could get time off to go to the lab.... so I never even had my blood drawn..... for the NT stuff nor the initial blood work that you get done. Either way if I need it I will have to get it, probably only from CNY though. I go there on the 5th. I will be 14.5 weeks then..... crazy!

Brittney - I'm thinking that everything is SO different then when I was pregnant with the boys that this one has got to be a girl.... everything from being sick this time, to the heart rate being a lot higher (the boys heart rate was in the 140's), to EXTREME fatigue, not so great complexion this time around, way different cravings......probably wishful thinking as I am in a house full of guys and would like to balance things out a bit. That and I have always wanted a little girl. Who am I kidding.... Its probably a little boy. Either way, I will be happy.

Tim wants a little boy. His brother has two girls, his other brother has no children, and his sister has a son but obviously not with the same last name. I think he would like a little boy to carry on the last name. So that is how it stacks up..... me - I want a girl, Tim - wants a boy, Skyler - wants a sister, Jordan - wants a brother. The house is split.

Either way.... I "think" we have names picked out. I am not sure if I want to tell anyone until the birth. I will decide by the time we have the BIG ultrasound. Speaking of.... I am assuming... being that I will be 14.5 weeks when I go to the doctor next that I will schedule that appointment? I hope so! I can't wait.

Appointment went okay. Yet another standoffish ultrasound tech that acted like we were an inconvenience or a disruption in her day. In order to get her to say anything you had to pull it out of her....nothing like feeling like you are pulling teeth. The doctor was ok... mater of fact type guy.

I am not sure I want to stay with this practice... I might find another one before my next appointment. I just feel weird calling to figure out how to transfer my records when I have only been there 2x. Maybe I could just have CNY send their records to a new OBGYN....IDK.

I am glad I am on the downward slope of the first trimester. I am looking forward to some lovely (and I do use that term loosely) pregnancy related stuff easing up.... the ability to stay up past 8 would be nice, not feeling sick or the need to stuff my face every couple hours in order to avoid feeling sick.... just to name a few.

I have the WORST heartburn today. I drank a small sip of some grape flavored drink and now I can't get the heartburn to away. As long as it doesn't make me gag and feel sick I guess I can deal.

We had a Christmas party with my mom on Sunday. It was the first we ever hosted one at our house. It was actually really fun. Tiring.... but fun. This coming Saturday is Tim's work Christmas party. Hopefully, I won't be completely bored watching everyone drink and carry on. I'll just sit bad sipping my caffeine free Pepsi and take one for the team.... and man, these people drink a lot so it should at least be entertaining.

I hope this weeks go by fast... I am looking forward for the confirmation that the little one is doing good, on track, etc.

Ok, sorry to have been gone for so long without writing. I have just been really busy with the upcoming holiday season. I can happily say we have our Christmas shopping done and everything wrapped. We are also having a holiday dinner this Sunday with my mother so I have been busy planning for that. We have a birthday party tomorrow so again, had to plan that. Tim's grandmother had a heart attack and had to have quadruple bypass surgery and an aneurysm near her heart fixed so that has taken up quite some time (she is in a lot of pain, fighting the doctors and wants this all to be over with -- happy to say she is still in the hospital but fighting and getting better slowly).

I went to doctor - Dr. Clements - for the first time. I had an ultrasound while I was there - I felt like I had a repeat with the nurse I do not like from CNY.... she was in a rush and wouldn't explain anything.... the only thing she did tell me is what the HB was... 168. I went back and gave all my history to one of the nurses. She was awesome. After that I went into Dr. Clements office. He was alright. Right to the point but not rude or anything. Laid out what testing I can have. I am going back next Friday for the NT scan.... hopefully the ultrasound tech isn't a complete douche and realizes - number 1 I am excited about this pregnancy and number 2 it wont kill her to take 2 seconds and explain what I am looking at as I am not the trained tech - number 3 there are so few times in this 10 month journey that we get to see out LO that we when do A) we want a DECENT picture and B) take 2 seconds and don't act like I am a waste of your time (so you can stand out by the receptionist and gossip....yes I saw you). Whatever, I feel like I will give this practice a chance. I will go to the NT scan and probably one more doctors visit and make a decision from there.

8 Weeks

Baby's now the size of a raspberry!
Baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs, and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

I went in for my last visit with CNY. I am a little disappointed. Out of all the nurses there I got the ONE that I do not like. She is short, doesn't tell you anything and I just overall don't like her. UGH.... that stinks. If I wasn't watching the screen VERY closely I wouldn't even know what the babies heart rate was (178). Whatever. I am thankful for my little one and their assistance in getting to where I am. I am also thankful that in the entire time I have been there I have only had the displeasure of having this nurse 2x - the rest (minus 1x) were with Shelia.

I am still nautious. Still worried. I go to my next appointment on Dec.1 - just a week and a half away. Oh... I got the ok to stop asprin on 12/4 and endometrin on 12/18!! I am counting down the days. Stupid nasty white suppositories!

We are going to see New Moon tomorrow and I am excited for that - no matter how silly that may sound lol. Need to pick up something to stick these ultrasound pictures in so they don't get ruined. Stared reading yet another vampire series..... not sure what I think on it yet though. Time will tell.

YAY I am so excited that it is Friday!!

Sad News

Last week they had a hard time locating Baby B and this week they confirmed that Baby B failed to progress. I am thankful for the one baby I have left. The HB was 127 and it was amazing to hear. I feel conflicted as to how I should feel. I feel loss. I know I should be greatful that we have one amazing bean that is thriving but I feel the loss of what was or could have been.

I am sure I will snap out of it soon. I will soon post updated ultrasound pictures.

Baby's now the size of a sweet pea!

Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks, and chin. Those little hands and feet -- still webbed like paddles -- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.

As for me.... bouts of feeling sick come and go. Extreme fatigue in the afternoon. I tend to go to bed really early these days lol. I go to the doctor today for my 6wk scan. Praying for heartbeats!

Amazing... absolutely still in awe that this is happening.... still paraniod that the ultrasound is gonna reveal nothing... I think I will only relax in a couple weeks when a heartbeat is heard...until then I will be nervous....

I am just waiting for the nurse to call and give me the news lol. She said when she was drawing my blood this morning that as long as everything was rising appropriately then they would see me back in on Friday for my first pre-natal appointment/ultrasound but alot of times they don't see anything this early so not to be alarmed? Friday I will be 5 weeks (WOW that soulds weird....).

So, Sorry I didn't update my blog yesterday after we received word from the nurse. We were waiting until family members were told. (How awful if they read it on my blog first!)

The funny thing is.... when I checked in at my appointment they gave me a piece of paper with their website on it, mine and Tim log on names and temporary passwords. They are going paperless and now have an online system that we can log into. You can check on your labs, see ultrasound pictures, update info etc. The lady at the front desk advised that I check it even today because a lot of times you can see it in the system before the nurses get a chance to call. So after I had my blood drawn they told me it would be a few hours and I headed home. I admit... I stalked the website. Hit F5 to refresh frequently. At about 10 the results were posted online (my blood draw was at 7:30). The nurse however didn't call until almost 2PM! I can't imagine having to have waited an additional 4 hrs!

Although we knew it was going to be positive. We tested at 7dp5dt.

We have to go back on Monday for a repeat draw!

Crap update

So here is the scoop. Tim called CNY for me to see if there was anything they could do. After much talk they gave me a 14 day supply - this will carry me at least through beta and then we can go from there.

When my local pharmacy called me this morning I asked 2x how many pills/day supply the prescription covered.... the idiot lady told me it was 21 pills.... 7 day supply.

After picking up the 14 day supply from CNY, I drove to the local pharmacy. I figured I would pick up the paper script from them and in the next 14 days find a new place that is cheaper to get this medicine (cause I will need it! The beta on Friday will be positive).

So I go in there and explain that someone called me earlier and I told them not to fill the script and I am here to pick up the paper script from the doctor. After much confusion the lady brings over this huge bag.... so, knowing that the 7 day supply box I have sitting on my dresser is small.... I say to the lady, how many pills are in there? She replies.... 63! Its a 21 day supply. SERIOUSLY!! Then this other pharmacy tech pipes in.... Oh yeah I am really sorry when I called you I thought it was 21 pills but its really a 21 day supply. YOUR KIDDING ME RIGHT!!?? A 21 day supply is a big difference from 7 day. And they didn't think to call me and let me know? I was not nice. They didn't want to give me my script back either. They kept telling me that they would hold it for 2 weeks if I wanted to just come back and get it at a later date. I finally got it back and proceed to the front of the store and just happen to pick the isle to go up that has the HPT's in them.... I stood there for a good 5 minutes staring trying to decide if I really wanted one or not. I was trying to think of a good brand to get that detects early. My brain was too muddled with irritation to process and think back to what I had seen on some website earlier. Otherwise.... I might have caved.

My opinion is almost 200 every 3 weeks is much better then every week. I will talk to the nurses when I go into have my beta drawn... maybe there is something that is cheaper that they can have ordered for me (I have enough to last me through November 3). Maybe somewhere else can offer me a better price.... Who knows.

I am wondering.... my beta is at 7:30AM.... I am wondering how long they will make me suffer before they give me the verdict.

So, I went to fill my script for Endometrin suppositories since the ones that they gave me in the office will run out tomorrow....

its going to cost me over $200 for less then a full weeks supply.... that is going to add up really fast and that is not something I can swing.....

I am a wreck right now.... I don't know what to do..... I'm in tears. This was not planned... We can't do 200+ a week.... It'd be different if we planned for it, saved for it.

3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining

Just trying to stay busy. At least it is the weekend and there is stuff to do. I feel like every symptom I am over analyzing so I am just trying to let it all go and relax.

4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining

I am sitting here with no one else awake thinking about the little embabies that are inside me right now. Wondering if they are implanting as they should be. Wondering all sorts of little facts about them. I pray that this works. I pray that these two stick and I have a nice uneventful 9 months. I love them already.

2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining

1 week from today is my first beta test! I feel kinda crampy today. Hoping its just from the Endometrin suppositories and not a bad sign....

Some people have been asking me if I am going to test early. I am not sure. I would like to say I will hold out until next Friday when my beta is. I am not even sure when I could test. We shall see next week.

1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day!!

I am just trying to get through each day. Again, I am in the waiting stage. 1 week from tomorrow is my beta! I am so excited! I didn't sleep well last night so I am pretty miserable today. I feel really emotional and that is not me. I think the Endometrin is kicking in. I'm am feeling the side effects from it.

0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst!!

So, we went to Syracuse and had our ET this morning. We got to the office and they were running behind. My luck! I got there, checked in and popped my Valium. I grabbed a water and sat there for what seemed like forever. Finally I was called back. Into the bathroom I went coming out sporting the ever so lovely hospital gown, slipper socks and hair thingy. A nurse brought me into the room where I sat up in the chair/table contraption. She lowered it to a reclining position.... took my blood pressure and a vial of blood (didn't expect anything less). I then read over my instructions, asked for a script for Endometrin and sat there in silence waiting for Dr. Kiltz.
Dr. Kiltz came in with a sheet of paper in his hand. He showed me pictures of all of the 10 embryos. 4 were perfect blasts, 5 were right behind them (not blasts yet) and one he thinks probably won't make it. He asked different questions about what we wanted, what he recommended.... either 1 or 2. Immediately 2 was our decision.

With that he went and told the lab. He came back in and did a quick trial. The embryologist then came in everything was guided into place via ultrasound. Super quick. I then sat there for about 20 minutes with my legs up. Before too long a nurse came in with a card with a better picture of the 2 they transferred.
I am so happy right now. I called on the way home to schedule my beta. It's set for 7:30AM on 10/23/09.
